Toronto

2264 miles.  631 photos.  14 days.  1 broken chair.  My holiday trip back to Toronto was by all means a success, and there were some memorable moments worth telling.

First, the funny story.  I spent new years eve with Stephen, who graciously opened up his condo to me and 23 of his closest friends for festive fun.  Stephen and I decided that we would repeat a feat we last performed together in 1990; we would jump off of chairs “into” the new year.  I ambled up onto my folding chair seconds before the year ticked over.  Crouching down in anticipation of my leap … the chair collapsed!  I “fell” into 2009, to the great amusement of everyone around me.

An now … a few memorable photos.

The Tuesday Blahs

Ever had one of those Tuesdays where the weekend seems like it’s a million miles away?  Where your eyelids have a mind of their own – and that mind wants desperately for them to shut?

However – there’s a silver lining around every cloud.  I certainly don’t need any more excuse to surf eBay than I already have … but I discovered that people sell clothes on eBay, and I’m quickly becoming a fan.  Who knew that I could find gently used jeans that would cost me upwards of $150 in the store, for a meager $15?  I bought my first pair this morning … we’ll see if they’re “all that”.

Today is day 5 on my thyroid meds, and I can’t really say I feel any different.  The quack started me on a very mild dose, though, and he also said that it may take a few weeks to feel the effects.  But I still have the notoriety of walking around work telling people that I’m on drugs … so I guess there’s some token benefit.

I think I decided I want to go to Utah for vacation this spring.  I’d like to see Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.  Anyone been there?  Sage words of advice?
