I was presented with a lovely gift at my Toastmasters meeting last night, and I’m still speechless.

It’s no secret in the club that I’m a history buff and a book collector.  I also served as the president of our club during the 2006/2007 Toastmasters year; a challenge that had many facets, and is still giving me a considerable education in leadership and communication.

The officers group presented me with this book to honor my year of service.  It meant a lot to me that they picked a historical book, and it’s especially thoughtful that they had the author inscribe it to me.

I’m heading down to the North Carolina State Capital for the lighting of the Christmas tree this afternoon, and am hoping to get some good shots of the festivities. More blog posts later!
