My mother came down to Raleigh for a visit this weekend past. Like all mothers, she brought with her concern for her child that only a mother can - and it came out with exuberance and love that only a mother can give.
One thing she taught me is how to make a chicken with stuffing. It was one of those recipes where you add a bit of this “until it feels right”. And a touch of that “just to give it a bit more flavour”. And by golly, we she made the juiciest chicken with the richest stuffing I have ever had …
Pity the poor chicken I make my first “solo” attempt on.
This Thursday will mark the arrival of one of my oldest high school friends - Tony. Tony completes my social triumvirate from my teen years. Stephen satisfied my intellectual and artistic side and Patrick fed the wandering consumer materialist that lurks within, but it was Tony that introduced me to things like nightclubs, hip-hop dancing and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
The adventures continue.
