Templates and Marriage and shit …
So I’m sick of fiddling with templates. Since I’m in the mood to simplify my life, I’m sticking with the good old fashioned “stock” Wordpress template that lets me play with all the widgets and cool stuff.
Speaking of which – I’m going back and tagging all of my posts, so you can enjoy the neat little tag cloud to the right. Even if you don’t think so, leave me a comment and let me know how cool it is so I don’t feel like a dork for spending the last two hours playing with that.
Carolyn is moving out on Saturday. I’m devastated, but I also see this as a new beginning – both for us as a couple, and for us as individuals. I’m going to spend the next month fixing up the house, which will probably get sold … and then I will start reinventing my life the way I want it to be.
No more living up to false expectations projected on me by others. No more trying to keep up with the Jones’. No more bullshit – deep down I know I have simple tastes and simple needs, and I’m going to try to build a life around that.
And if this was one tenth as easy as it is to write, I probably wouldn’t be such a wreck right now.
I am sorry to hear she is moving out, Mike. I wish you both well.
