The wife is preparing for her first ride on the back of the Ducati as I type this … and in anticipation of this memorable event, I have removed the rear seat cover to accommodate.
Stamped on the inside of the rear seat cover is the name “Luigi”.
Who are you, Luigi? Did you lovingly paint the seat cover that now graces my bike? Did you inspect it before some other caring hand screwed it in place?
Do you smoke cigarettes and drink wine at a small cafe outside of Bologna, talking passionately about fine art and beautiful women?
Man, I love this bike. It’s worth having exhaust clamp bolts rattle off, to find little treasures like this.
Thats the name of the Italian who built your bike. At the factory monsters are built by individuals, not on an assembly line. superbikes are built by 2, but monsters are a one man creation from start to finish. So just hope that Luigi didn’t have too much vino that day.
